Lexi-Comp Online Drug Reference Now Available.

The Seton Family of Hospitals is pleased to add Lexi-Comp to the list of online drug references available for use by its credential physician partners.

Lexi-Comp, a leading provider of drug information and clinical content for 30 years, provides the tools necessary to help improve patient safety, ensure compliance and elevate the quality of care patients receive. Content includes:

  • drug and drug interaction information,
  • information on diagnosis and disease management,
  • Seton Family of Hospital formulary services,
  • patient education resources, and
  • clinical support tools.

Lexi-Comp’s unbiased information is collected, validated and published daily by a team of advanced-degreed pharmacists and physicians, ensuring users have the most current and clinically relevant support for point-of-care decisions.

Decisions involving incorporation of content are based on levels of evidence and peer-review consensus. As a result, multidisciplinary groups of clinical pharmacists, physicians and nurses are involved in decisions to add, delete or modify information.

The Lexi-Comp team performs daily surveillance of FDA and pharmaceutical manufacturer announcements and publications to research findings on new drug availability, new dosage forms as well as revisions to contraindications, warnings and other labeling changes. The internal clinical team also monitors and coordinates information from the medical science arena; this includes routinely surveying published literature within key therapeutic areas and coordinating input related to clinical guidelines, consensus statements and clinical practice.
