SETON Citrix Win2000 \ XP Package Installation Guide

NOTE: This Win2000\XP installation package is designed to confirm that certain minimum requirements have been met on a user’s computer in order to ensure that the installation and operation of the Citrix ICA Web Client is successful. In addition, as part of the package installation process, many common problems previously reported to the Seton Service Desk are resolved. If you encounter any issues while trying to use this package, please contact the Seton Service desk at 324-1675.
INSTALLATION FOR WIN2000 and XP
1. Locate and double-click the Seton Citrix Package executable file. It is currently labeled citrix_9.exe.

2. A screen will display showing the specific minimum requirements that must be observed on the computer for a successful installation to occur. Please read this. If any minimum requirement is not met, select the Exit button. Otherwise, select the Continue button to proceed with the package installation.
3. The package will perform a series of computer checks and clean up actions as noted in the screenshot below. If selected actions are needed to better prepare the computer for the Citrix ICA Web Client, the package will make those changes.

4. In the event that the computer either does not have the Citrix ICA Web Client installed or a version earlier that the current standard, which is
version 9.1, the package will properly install the required client. If this is the case, you may see the screen below.

5. Upon completing the installation of the Citrix ICA Web Client, if it needed to be installed, the screenshot below will display showing a completed installation status. The screenshot below will then display for 5 seconds before proceeding to the final screen.

6. In the event that the computer already had the latest version of the Citrix ICA Web Client, the progress information will look slightly different. Again, the screenshot below will only display for 5 seconds before proceeding to the final screen.

7. After the package has been installed successfully, the final dialog box will then be displayed. Select the Exit button to complete the package installation.

8. No icon on the desktop or in the Start Menu will be created by this installation. However, access to the COMPASS web site or other application published through Citrix will now be available to you through your Internet browser. If any assistance is required at this point, feel free to contact the Seton Service Desk at 512-324-1675, option 5.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. In the event that there are errors detected during the installation process, the installation process will inform you of the error. For example, if the display resolution does not meet minimum requirements, you will see the screenshot below during the install process. Select Continue to proceed.

2. The final screen will provide more details as to what the problem is and how to correct it. Select the Exit button to complete the package installation.
