Training for COMPASS Medication Reconciliation Improvements

To improve the care of patients, COMPASS medication reconciliation will change for SMCW and SMCH on April 12, 2010. To prepare for the change, please participate in training available Mar. 22 – April 9.

On-site instructor-led training: contact your site coordinator if you have not already been scheduled for training, or for specific days, time and rooms for your site's training.

COMPASS Training for Credentialed Physicians and their Medical Office Personnel

COMPASS Physician Training Overview

The majority of COMPASS physicians training takes place in Seton Learning Central, the Seton Family of Hospital’s online university, and can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection.

Hospitals where physicians are entering their orders electronically, such as Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas and Seton Medical Center Williamson, also offer personal assistance from a COMPASS Physician Site Coordinator (see below.)

Accessing COMPASS with an Apple Computer

Please be aware the Seton Family of Hospitals does not support Apple computers. The link below should allow you to access COMPASS with an Apple product. Variances in your particular Mac configuration or network setup may affect access. No additional software installation should be necessary since the host link is configured to support a native Java client. Technical documents are available at www.citrix.com describing various requirements, options, and troubleshooting steps. Please note that neither Cerner, COMPASS’ software designer, nor the Seton ServiceDesk will be able to assist you with any access issues when using your Mac.
