Continuing Medical Education
The Seton Family of Hospitals now offers its credentialed physicians a one-stop listing of available CME opportunities, including access to new activities that can be completed online. They include the following:
Seton-Sponsored CME
Continuing Medical Education Calendar – A complete listing of programs at Seton facilities that are designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Requires physician attendance. Calendar is updated regularly. All topics, times and cancellations also can be obtained by calling the Medical Staff Office at 324-1000 ext. 14621.
Internet Point of Care (PoC) – Structured, self-directed online learning is available for physicians on topics relevant to their clinical practice. Objectives are to describe clinical question(s), list source(s) consulted and report if the information being researched is applicable to your practice or patient care. Several research databases are available through the Seton Medical Library. One-half (0.5) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ may be awarded for each activity completed after submission to and approval from Medical Staff Services. Free to Seton physicians.
Online CME Modules – AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ will be awarded upon the completion of educational modules. Typically, these modules include material to read or a presentation to view, an exam and evaluation. Each module can be accessed through Seton Learning Central and completed online. Free to Seton physicians.
Performance Improvement Activities – Seton is one of the first hospital systems to adopt this new format for CME activities. Unlike didactic lectures and case conferences, AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ are not based on time spent on each activity. A maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category I Credits(s)™ can be awarded for the completion of an entire project in sequence. This approach is specially structured to help reduce errors and improve patient safety as we work together to foster a culture of safety. Free to Seton physicians.
