Mark Hazelwood
Mark Hazelwood leads the three hospitals included in the North Market for the Seton Family of Hospitals. Prior to joining Seton in 2003, he spent 28 years in the energy industry in various executive management positions responsible for U.S. midstream operations, U.S. crude oil, natural gas and NGL marketing, world-wide government and industry affairs, planning, finance and legal matters pertaining to litigation, taxation and oil and gas transactions.
Early in his career, he practiced law at Vinson & Elkins. After leaving the energy industry and prior to joining Seton, he served as president and CEO of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce from 2000 through 2002.
Mark also serves on several civic, philanthropic and business organization boards. He holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University.

Arie DeJong
Arie joined Seton in 2008 as operations director for Seton Highland Lakes Hospital and its clinics. Previously he was a vice president at Aspen Healthcare Metrics (Englewood, Colo.) where he worked with hospitals across the nation to improve financial performance. He was a Director of Finance at faith-based Advocate Health Care (Chicago) and later became Director of Operations over two multi-disciplinary ambulatory clinics at Advocate. In addition, he was a senior consultant for Accenture in Chicago. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Michigan State University and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan.
Vice President Medical Affairs
Ed LeBlanc, MD
Dr. Ed LeBlanc guides the clinical operations of the physician staff at two hospitals and ensures effective integration of physician and nursing staff activities. He is a Board Certified Family Physician who joined Seton in June 2007. Previously he served 24 years in the United States Air Force in a variety of roles, including Medical Director for the Department of Defense's TRICARE South region, Medical Center Chief of Internal Medicine Operations, and the Air Force Surgeon General's Deputy Chief of Health Benefits and Policy. He received Bachelors of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine, a Doctorate of Medicine from Wake Forest University, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas, San Antonio. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, CA.

Karen Litterer, RN, MSN, CIC
Karen Litterer joined Seton Highland Lakes in 1991 as Director of Nursing for hospital operations including the Med-Surg, Intensive Care, Operating Room and Emergency Departments. She also has operational responsibility for Respiratory Therapy, Social Services, Infection Control/Employee Health and is active in accreditation and regulatory activities. In the past, Karen served as interim Director of Seton Highland Lakes Imaging, Home Care and Hospice. She has an MSN from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Nursing and currently serves as an Associated Faculty member in TTU's AND to BSn program. She is a member of the Burnet County ISD School Health Advisory Council, Curriculum Committee for the Health and Technology programs for the Burnet Independent School District as a member of the Highland Lakes Health Partnership Board.
