John C. Brindley
John Brindley has more than 29 years of experience in healthcare leadership. He joined the Seton Family of Hospitals as executive vice president and chief operating officer in 1996. Previously, he was the chief operating officer at DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Va. He also held leadership positions at INOVA Fairfax Hospital and the Washington Hospital Center.

He has extensive experience in operations improvement, supply chain and product line management. Under his leadership, Seton Medical Center Austin and Seton Northwest Hospital achieved Magnet status, recognized as the gold standard for excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Seton Medical Center Austin has been designated Austin’s most preferred hospital from 1999-2008 with the Consumer Choice award given by the National Research Corporation and recognized as one of the Solucient Top 100 Hospitals in the Country multiple times.

Charlotte Thrasher
Charlotte Thrasher has more than 28 years of experience in healthcare leadership. She has led Seton Medical Center Austin since October 2000. Prior to joining the Seton Family of Hospitals, she worked as chief operating officer in the Tenent Healthcare System. Before moving into healthcare administration, she practiced hospital pharmacy in St. Paul, Minn., Houston and San Antonio, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a master's degree in Healthcare Administration from the Trinity University in San Antonio.

Vice President Medical Affairs

Samson Jesudass, MD
Dr. Jesudass has more than 18 years of experience in healthcare and has worked for 11 years as a solo community internist at Luling, Texas. Recruited for residency at Texas Tech University by Dr. Abraham Verghese, noted sponsor of foreign-trained physicians in the US, Dr. Jesudass was featured along with Dr. Verghese on a CBS 60 Minutes program about physicians who work with medically underserved communities. He served Seton Edgar B. Davis Hospital as Chief of Staff and then Medical Director before moving to SMCA.

He was born in Bangalore, India and studied at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, after which he attended Texas Tech for his IM residency. There, he was the Chief Resident, and was selected as the Resident of the Year by medical students from the five campuses of Texas Tech. He also was chosen as “Best Resident” by his peers and the faculty.

His interests include helping staff to find meaning and rejuvenation at work and helping to improve the patient experience in the hospital.

Angela Stalbaum, RN, MSN, NE-BC
Angela has over 23 years of healthcare experience with the last 13 of those being in healthcare leadership.  She started at SMCA as a Graduate Nurse 23 years ago.  She has held various roles during that time including staff nurse, unit educator, nursing director for multiple medical/surgical units and now currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas in Austin.  She is currently working on completing her Masters of Science in Nursing Administration from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center which she will graduate from in May, 2009.
