Your medical staff leadership has joined with the administration of the Seton Healthcare Family to endorse the value of training all members of the health care delivery team in high-reliability methodology. We, therefore, support the requirement for all active* physicians to attend an approved, specially designed training session (part of Ascension’s Healing Without Harm initiative) to familiarize everyone with evidence-based techniques that have been proven to dramatically enhance patient safety.

Participation in these training sessions is MANDATORY. If you have not yet attended a training session, please contact the VPMA for your primary facility at your earliest convenience.

 

*Definition of “Active Medical Staff,” (i.e., those physicians who must be trained) includes any:

1. physician with >/= 100 encounters at a Seton facility over the past year
2. proceduralist with > 20 procedures at a Seton facility over the past year
3. all resident physicians
4. all physicians employed by Seton
