Dell Medical School Pediatrics Chair Presents Vision for Department

Dr. Steven Abrams, Inaugural Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, spoke to about 125 physicians, staff and members of the community at Dell Children’s Medical Center, on Monday, April 20.

Dr. Abrams, joined by his three children, presented his vision for the Department of Pediatrics at the Dell Medical School.

“It is overwhelmingly clear that we have an incredible opportunity to build upon the long and honorable history of the University of Texas at Austin and pediatric health care in this region.” He added that the new pediatrics department “will help make Austin a model healthy city and improve the lives of children throughout this region.”

The Dell Medical School is scheduled to admit its first class in 2016 and will be one of the nation’s leading research universities.
